Brewing news USA: New microbrewery unveils new beer

Twin Lakes Brewing Company unveiled its newest beer named for a historic Delaware tavern May 18 in Hockessin, The News Journal posted the same day.

The dark, rich stout, made in the style of the Pacific Northwest, is named after Tweeds Tavern, a tiny pub from the 1700s that the state has been restoring in Hockessin. It will become a central feature in an area off Valley Road and Del. 7 that will be known as Tweeds Park.

Twin Lakes Brewing Company is co-owned by Sam Hobbs, a du Pont family descendent. He and his partners Matt Day and Jack Wick created the microbrewery on Hobbs's 228-acre family farm off Del. 52 in Greenville. It's one of the larger, family-owned residential tracts of open space north of Wilmington.

The company's other two beers, Route 52 Pilsner and Greenville Pale Ale, are available at more than 15 restaurants and taverns in the state.
